colour spots:spring has errupted

are you able to tell that I am happy to have my camera back? yes, I know an overload of pics lately...but it is so hard for me to stop, since for way too long I had to use my cell phone for pictures. Anyway...this is such a beautiful time of year.

ps: I am glad the clouds have come back. Rain would be even nicer.

bungaree speak: puke

Preface: O was sick at the beginning of last week. He was throwing up and stuff...I think j learned a new word at that time: puke.

setting: we are at church, the boys have just been picked up from their classes downstairs, and they are "giving each other a hug".

j: o, you smell like puke!

silence.

B: j, that isn't nice to say to oliver. Sometimes we think things, but if it is mean we need to not say it. That would hurt o's feelings.

j: I didn't think it, I just smelled something.

(in other words, yes....we are working on a filter hahahah!)

what did you do yesterday?? (our yesterdays journey in bungareeville)

TODAY: Was so fun!
How it all began, we went with Grandma Marble to the nursery wholesale Peoria Gardens (out on Peoria Road), where things were so green and sweet. I could not comprehend the amount of starts they had of all types and how many green houses they had. Don't worry I brought home some lute!

our lute!! (lavender, rosemary, wallflowers, bachelor buttons, a ton of lettuce, and an even larger amount of mixed salad greens!!!) While back at home , the chicken lady of Eugene (Theresa) gives me a call and tells me I can come pick up my Americaunas later on. So right them I decide to call Jessica and see if she will be around, she says yes...so that is our next stop. Napless, and hot we hop in the car...off to Eugene! We never mind since we have pretty much sisters that live there, well sisters to me...cousins to the boys. It feels like home, not Eugene...but being with Jessica, Nicole and their little Jude, Silas, Max and soon-to-be Russell. I am not sure why I did not get any pictures of us heading to the park, as it was a sight...Nicole had Max in the frontpack while pushing Jude's stroller, Jessica was pulling a wagon with O and Silas, and I was walking holding J's hand.

Jude contemplating
O, Silas and J...doing what boys do best: playing!

Jessica eluded every shot, but that is completely acceptable...since she is pretty preggo...and hot and not wanting pics. I will get some when Russell comes! Here is one of Nicole and Max, sweet mamma and baby!

Then we went to Theresa's and picked up our newest addition to the chicken tractor. Three Americaunas, also known as Easter Eggers!!! They are the ones who lay the blue to green eggs, I searched heard for these, and they are B-utiful! I think one is a roo (rooster), so I will need to find him a non-city home, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to keep the rest! I need to get them up close and all, they did not really want to cooperate after their journey out of Eugene. I was scared to put them in with the 9 week old Partridge Rocks (to the left below), because it can be a HUGE problem to put little 5 week old Easter Eggers in there...but they are just fine and this is day two! (thank you, Jesus! I did not want bloody chickies!)

My chicken family is now complete! And we had a wonderful day's travels.

our chicken's home-the tractor (decent pics now)

chickidee-chickiedoo, we love you!

We went to Lazy 54 Farm (Hatchery) in Hubbard, Oregon to get out two littlest chickies. We got two Rhode Island Red day olds from there. They are the cutest little things!!! I picked up some meat chicks (Cornish x day olds) while I was up there for a fellow chicken enthusiast in Lebanon. Here is a box full of chicks!
since the hatchery was about an hour away I brought a movie for the boys to watch on the way back. I don't always do this, but it is fun for them in the car where there is not much to do. Sometimes I do toys, or books, but I have noticed that it is really hard if they drop something since I am the only one in the car....and I cannot reach back to get it...so MAC movies are the better choice. Gotta love the MAC!!

At home, the boys hands and fingers are attracted like magnets to the chickies soft fluff!

They love them! LOVE them. O is a little hazard with them, but J other than squeezing a little too hard sometimes seems to be really gentle.

So that is our trip to get the RIR (Rhode Island Reds as known to chicken lovers).

bungaree love

The sweet, unprompted love of two bungaree brothers...

...never lasts long!

the art of goof

J is loves painting these old-time pins. We are painting a bunch of them to make wind chimes, so I am happy he finds it enjoyable. Every day or so he paints some.

sweet peas kid's cafe, corvallis or.

It is called sweet peas kid's cafe, but honestly it is much more for the mammas than the kidlings, it is a place where you can take your kids to get them out of the house on a rainy oregon day, where you can sit and watch them play, while sipping some mocha. I have gone a couple times, and love it. They serve coffee to the mammas, or tea...and the kids have hot chocolate, chocolate milk, juice and yummy snacks. They also have lunch-type stuff, but we haven' done that yet. We all loved it. the kids found plenty of toys that they were entertained by, and the chalk/ magnetic wall is insanely cool.
